SubMyCoffee started with a simple frustration: we lived in Los Angeles, surrounded by some of the most extraordinary independent roasters in the world, but every coffee subscription we tried was shipping us beans from roasters we'd never heard of, roasted weeks ago, at premium prices.
We started mapping the LA scene — visiting roasteries, talking to founders, learning about sourcing and process. What we found was staggering: 13+ world-class roasters within 30 miles of downtown, most of them invisible to anyone outside the city.
